DescriptionThe Culture Prize of the Dr. The Franz and Astrid Ritter Foundation for Fine Arts is awarded annually to one or more Lower Bavarian artists. The winners are determined by a specialist jury in a multi-stage selection process. With a total endowment of at least 15,000 euros p.a., the prize occupies an outstanding position for visual artists in Bavaria – and throughout Germany.

With the presentation of its culture prize, the Dr. Franz and Astrid Ritter Foundation Lower Bavarian fine arts in the focus of national attention and support the artists in their work.

The Kaslinowski Prize

DescriptionThe Düsseldorf sculptor and graphic artist Horst Egon Kalinowski (1924-2013) founded the “Professor Horst Egon Kalinowski Estate Foundation” in 2011 while he was still alive.
 
The purpose of the estate foundation, administered in trust by the Stiftung Kunstfonds, is to preserve Kalinowski’s work and make it publicly accessible, for example in the context of exhibitions and scientific research.

In addition, Kalinowski decreed in his will that his estate foundation would use its proceeds to award a sponsorship prize for graduates of the State Art Academy in Karlsruhe, where he himself taught from 1972 until his retirement in 1989.

The “Professor Horst Egon Kalinowski Estate Foundation” is now awarding the Kalinowski Prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, for the seventh time.
